OCT is committed to bringing great stories to life onstage, nurturing students' love of reading and the arts, providing experiential learning environments where students can find their own voices, and bringing free theater resources to educators. We'll work with you to make planning and executing your field trip or OCT program stress-free and straightforward, and all of our programs connect back to the Common Core standards you're using in your classroom.
Field Trips
Bring your students to the theatre for an unforgettable experience! OCT’s Mainstage performances make great field trip opportunities for students.
Plus, educators can extend that experience into the classroom with free resource guides, full of lesson plan ideas and activities designed to inspire and engage students with the performance. Developed in partnership with local educators, these lesson plans align with Common Core and SEL Standards.
In-School Programming
We offer a variety of in-school programs for grades K–8 to enhance learning with theatre skills. Developed in collaboration with local educators and our skilled teaching artists, all programs align to Common Core State Standards and encourage students to imagine, learn, and grow!
Professional Development
Our engaging, interactive, arts-based professional development series uses theatre games and SEL skills to elevate a variety of topics, such as Mindfulness for the Classroom, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Educators, and Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices. Developed by professional teaching artists with extensive experience in effective classroom strategies, this series will inspire educators while enhancing their skills and strengthening relationships with their students.
