Where Your Donation Goes
Oregon Children’s Theatre believes no child should be denied the magic of live theatre, and all of its benefits, simply because they can’t afford it. Our donors play an essential role in making our beliefs a reality through supporting our high-quality programs:
- Community Services: Our donors help us provide free tickets, scholarships, and theater workshops to children served by our social service agency partners, including Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Friends of the Children, St. Mary’s Home for Boys, and many other organizations.
- Teacher Assistance: Donations allow OCT to provide free training and resources for teachers (including free teacher previews, resource guides, and professional development workshops) to directly connect our plays to required learning benchmarks across a range of grade levels and subjects.
- Free and Reduced-price tickets for schools: Donations underwrite thousands of reduced-price and free tickets to schools with the greatest need and keep ticket prices low for all schools ($5.75-$7.75 a seat).
- Acting Scholarships: Your gift helps OCT provides scholarships for 10-15% of all students in our Acting Academy and Young Professionals mentoring program.
- Our Productions: Our donors ensure OCT can continue to provide the highest quality professional theater productions. Your contribution helps pay for our sets, costumes, venue rental; hiring of actors, designers, and directors; and new play development.
