Schoolhouse Rock Live Sketches!

OCT invited several illustrators and comic artists to sketch the show live from the audience. Check out their interpretations below!



Ryan Alexander-Tanner

Ryan is an artist and educator who specializes in writing and drawing comics, teaching kids how to make them, and teaching grown-ups how to teach them.  His work can be found in grocery stores everywhere; he illustrates all of the Dave’s Killer Bread products!


Jonathan Hill

Jonathan graduated as valedictorian from the Savannah College of Art and design, and moved to Portland as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist. He illustrated the award-winning graphic novel Americus, and is currently making comics for Oni Press and Roar Comics.


Meg Hunt

Meg is an illustrator and educator who is fascinated by people, characters and worlds, as well as using her art to inspire happiness.  She has lived in Connecticut, Arizona, and Oregon; each place has influenced her style. She hopes to someday explore product design, gift cards, animations, childrens' books, stationery, and textiles.


Victoria Jamieson

Victoria is a writer, illustrator, and children’s book illustration teacher at Pacific Northwest College of Art, as well as a member of the Rose City Rollers roller derby league. Her graphic novel, Roller Girl, is a Newbery Honor Award Winner and New York Times bestseller.


Naomi Rubin

Naomi is a writer and illustrator for her comic, Domestic Animal. She operates her creative studio, Naomiyaki, which focuses on illustration and character design. Her work has been featured on book covers, web applications, and more.
