Little Red Riding Hood gets a Southern twist, complete with a basket full of gumbo, hot sauce, and a sidekick cat. In this bayou-flavored version of Little Red Riding Hood, Little Red (Petite Rouge) is a naïve duck, the wolf is a hungry alligator (Claude Prudhomme), and the woods are a deep southern swamp.
Told in rhyming Creole dialect and rich in Cajun culture, an on-stage swamp chorus sings backup in the Zydeco-driven score to this fantastic family musical.
