Activities

Create a travel brochure

Create an inter-galactic travel brochure that describes one of Meg, Charles and Calvin's destinations in the story (Uriel, Camazotz, or Earth). Keep in mind that travel brochures are marketing devices, so point out and play up the destination's positive features. Include carefully placed and designed illustrations.

Synchronicity

When Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin are on Camazotz, they encounter an entire society of people who have completely conformed to a uniform behavior and speech. Get a group of your friends together and pick a simple activity (i.e. bouncing a ball, jumping rope, hopscotch). When doing the activity, try doing it uniformly. Everyone moves at the same time in the same way. When you all get the hang of that, try something more difficult, like hula hooping!

IT

Draw a picture of how you imagined IT might look. How is it similar or different from how OCT created it onstage?
