Great day! Lois Lowry had a speaking engagement on Governor’s Island. I got to hang out and be her “peeps”! We were escorted by the park service to the Ferry and were given a guided tour of the island in an electric golf cart. Lois spent 3 years on the island as a student, 10^th grade to graduating high school! She told great stories of her time there as a “military brat”. Her father was an officer so she had great access. Check out her writing blog for the stories. Great photos of her house on the island and a stunning high school graduation photo of Lois in a white dress and gloves.

In the afternoon, Dr. Nancy Swortzell, the Co-Artistic Director of New Plays for Young Audiences, invited the production team up to her apartment for drinks, appetizers and “sweeties”.  Nancy is a gracious hostess and an amazing person. Also got to meet Dr. Cecily O'Neill the Dramaturge for the workshop. I am thinking of changing my name to Dr. Stan, lots of Dr.'s here. Cecily has a way of making you feel very comfortable. A great start to the workshop!  More tomorrow! I am a lucky guy!!!!!

Travel Day! Arrived in New York safe and sound!

Heading to New York tomorrow to workshop Gossamer at NYU. It is exciting to think of all that can be accomplished in a week. Lois is also arriving tomorrow. The first rehearsal is Sunday evening. I can’t wait! I will write a day to day account of what is happening in rehearsals or if anything else cool happens.
